Many have asked me over the years wither i would ever produce a book of potry for i suspect i am better known for my poetry than my novels and short stories. I eventually relented a couple of years ago and released "Selected Poetry" Which sold above my expectations which of course was pleasing for me but i regreted releasing it almost as soon as I produced it.
I realised that it was flawed. I do not save much of my poetry and so included in it were some that i did not wish to be there but were available and I felt as though I had cheated the buyers. So i have taken rather more time and finaly produced a book of poetry that i am happy with. Glimpse, covers many years and styles for a few of my epic poems to some small and sensible verse, some that i love, some that i hate but others love but it is a far more sensible look at my poetry over the last ten years or so. Sorry if you liked much of my verse from before then for i have saved little of it.

A pale shadow creeps continues apace and looks good, though i as the authour is kind of bound to think so. Yet i spent time earlier today reaquianting myself with the earlier motions of the story, the ebb and flow of the narrative, the weft and warp of the deatail and richness of the story. Never have I before stolen so much from myself, nor shall I again for it has been both the easist story to write and the most difficult to relate. But it do think even if i do say so myself, which i do, that you will really like it.

"A pale shadow creeps" is now only weeks (or perhaps a couple of months depending upon the time i have available for re-writes) away from publication and i really think that everyone will like it. It is rather more personal than anthing that i have written before and i have used a more descriptive style than is usual in my case but i still stick to the tale though with just a little more embelishment than is usual for me. Though of course a chilling format being a ghost story of sorts i hope many will also find it warming an unusual for its genre. Feathers is also closer to production and i hope to have it finished and released by the end of the year in its new format and styling. I have always wanted to write a true and in-depth horror and "Feathers is going to be just that" I have cut much of the chaff from it, which, though entertaining (i thought) did little in the way of recommending the book and so a vastly pared down (just 280 pages now) Version will be released towards the end of the year. Thank you all for your patience and understanding.

I have delayed the release of a pale shadow creeps meantime as i have to draw all the threads of the earlier stories together in Feathers and i wished to make sure everything met up as expected and i left no loose ends for i do not intend to return to this series after the trilogy completes. They are very much seperate novels anyway linked only by location and occasionaly by time frame. Anyway these problems have now been addresed and sorted to my satisfaction and "A Pale shadow creeps will now be out early in the new year- february or march, and feathers in october to draw the series to a conclusion. Meanwhile i nearly ready to publish the second volume of "A River of Tears" which shall also appear early next year and even if i do say so myself, i think you will love it.

A pale shadow creeps is now finished with just the odd tweak here and there required. It was; as all my stuff is supposed to be a short story but again ditto it has become more than expected but hopefully not so large that it will lopse your attention.
Hope you enjoy it.

This will be the new novel. I have remarked before and often that feathers as a novel had grown so large as to be unweildy and so it became fragmented and has been so long in the writing that many threads became unravelled. That is why there are writers and editors and never shall the two agree. And such was the case here. As things transpire what was once feathers will end up as three books. Firstly; A pale shadow creeps, which is only a month or two away from publication. Secondly; Feathers, which is now as a novel finished though it takes on its full majesty (if i do say so myself) if you have read both "A Shiver" and " A pale shadow creeps" beforehand. Though it is, as always, a stand alone novel and my first "published" attempt at a true dramatic horror.

I have been asked a few times now why everything i write is based in Scotland. There is no overall purpose to that other than It is a place i know and love. For all the places i have been in my life Scotland remains home to me and i think that when you are writing you do so of places that you know and love and so scotland it is for me. Anyway, i think it does not apply as much as most think for cornelius mainly takes place in Italy and Romania, though i know it does also end in "bonny" Scotland.
This year, for the first time in many years I have travelled alot and during those travels was lucky enough to go to the town of Ieper (what was once ypres) In Flanders that is now Belgium. It is a wonderful medievial town with much character and absolutely wonderful people, almost magical, I fell in love with the place on my first encounter and will most certainly be going back and the next time to spend some time there. I found myself both distressed and and facinated by the towns history during the great war and know that my own grandfather fought and was wounded there (much as half the families in europe could have said). It is so difficult to reconcile in my own head how this beautiful and very welcoming small town was left as nothing but rubble after the Great war and they rebuilt it brick by brick painstakingly and perfectly, even the cathedral, which is a truely stunning building. Anyway this long preamble was generally to say that one day there may even be a story set in belgium for i already have it in my mind. So then as well as Scotland i will have added not just Romania and Rome but Modern day Belgium to my list and later day Flanders. Wow, begining to sound like ernest hemingway (well without the gay bit and the seeking excitement).

This has been such a stange time for me, disjointed and unreal yet good and uplifting in a small way. I have found my life in turmoil with very little cause, an internal rather than an external thing if you know what i mean. For the first time in many years i have again travelled much; visiting Spain, Portrugal, the canary islands, maderia (such a beautiful isle, to be recommended) toured the north of france and spent a little time in belgium and will soon be going travelling again this time in Gibraltar and north africa (it sounds like an adventure does it not?) yet me. The real me, yearns to go out again walking the hills and dales of this fair land. Ah never mind i shall enjoy it i am sure. plus i really do fancy going to morroco for an odd reason. Not really sure what it is but i do- lol- perhaps there is some adventure there after all

As things do in most of my tales "A pale shadow creeps" has now become a mix of ghost story, social commentry and romance but is proceeding well ( I personaly am very pleased with it, it has all the creepy elements that it started with and has gained so much more from the romance contained therein) and will be available soon. Whilst writing "a pale shadow" a sychronicity appeared to me and it being my habit I have included it in the story. So. Though unrelated by little more than geographical location and surrounds "A Shiver" and the next volume "A Pale Shadow Creeps" as well as the not yet finished "Feathers" have become a trilogy. All three own thier places in unrelated genres' but still work together well as a group i think. I hope you enjoy them one and all.
To make it clear; "A Shiver" is a romance set within the bounds of historical fiction with a little fantasy thrown in.
"A Pale Shadow Creeps" Is very much a ghost story with a lovely romantic tale at its core.
"Feathers" is very much a horror story with its roots set in the history of Scotland.

This will be the new book, released soon, hopefully in a month or two, it was time i told a ghost story, In my very nature owe so much to lovecraft, james, aycliffe etal that in my own humble way i (simply to emulate them) am going to release my new book; Both a ghost story and gothic romance in one. Readers of gothic romances, ghost stories and even lovers of a good story will be captivated by this tale
